We took a roadtrip to Talkeetna, Alaska last weekend and had a great time. The town is so cute and filled with lots of outdoorsy people because it is so close to Denali National Park. It is a bit touristy, but in a cute Alaskan small town way. The only bad part about the roadtrip was that we had to drive through Wasilla to get to Talkeetna. Wasilla is strip mall central. It is one of those towns that could be anywhere in America and represents the worst of walmart culture and consumerism. It was horrible. No wonder Sarah Palin was the Mayor of Wasilla. Wasilla has Sarah written all over it. She lives in one of these houses on a lake that FACES THE HIGHWAY. Who would want to have a view of the highway from their cute lakeside house? Sarah is a mystery to me.
Anyways, Talkeetna was a place we definitely want to go back to.
